Sox Vs. Texas then off to Baltimore

Top of the 6th inning again the Rangers. Score as of Right now : Texas 2 Sox 0. it is the last game until the Sox go on the road on down to Baltimore.
Was just reading about the pitching staff over at NESN. (http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/amalie-benjamin-breaks-down-red-sox-pitching-with-tom-caron.html) Matsuzaka is suppose to be going back in to rotation but Sox wont have a 6 man rotation. Honestly if i was Terry Francona i would have a 6 pitcher roster. If someone gets injured you need back up pitchers.
If any Sox fan watched last nights game you would know that the Sox pitchers were wicked good . and so were the players JD Drew's Grand Slam in th 4th inning . Come on Good stuff..
Lately the Sox haven't been wining before last nights game they lost 5 times in a row. What the heck is up with that?

I love this new idea of live blogging. well this is kinda sorta live blogging... Here is NESN's live blog

Hopefully the Sox can pull out another win and Move on to the Road and pull more W's.

Sox Add Another Win

Today the Sox won 6-3 versus the Minnesota Twins. john Lackey pitched and since he new to our (Sox) pitching rotation that is pretty good. He pitched well in this game. As Terry Francona(manager of the Sox) put it "He's down in the zone. I thought he threw enough breaking balls in hitters' counts to keep them off his fastball. He did a terrific job today."(from NESN.com http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/john-lackeys-early-success-continues-with-first-Boston-win.html) I think that john will do fine for the pitching rotation.

Jim Rice a baseball hall of famer who was on the Sox played in left field from 1974-1989 and then a pitching coach after wards then retired but is on air for NESN.(http://www.redsoxdiehard.com/players/rice.html) His comments about the pitching from Jon Lester,Josh Beckett and Lackey was that "All these guys have a chance to win 20 games," Rice noted. "[But] you got to give the pitchers a cushion where they can go out and relax."(offense needs to help) The bat awaken needs to be there to provide a cushion for the pitchers to come in an win games.(http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/off-to-good-start-john-lackey-must-earn-respect-in-boston.html) What does the offense need to do to "wake up" and hit the ball again? i am not quite sure; some-days they hit good others not so much, Maybe the players think to much about playing well that they don't play well when it is game day.

Until next Time Sox Fans!

Quick Update

So the Sox have started off on a good note this year on the road. The bats have awoken up and they are now producing hits better than they did when we first started versus the Yankees. We crushed them on the Home opener but the failed to fight back to win games.

For anyone who doesn't follow baseball that means the Sox are doing well . Some key players have come alive especially yesterday's game against Kansas City with a win 8-6.(http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/red-sox-offense-swings-away-score-eight-in-victory-over-royals.html) Dustin Pedroia my favorite player right now was key along with Adrian Beltre. Pedroia in the 4th hits a home run. Hello good baseball.( http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2010_04_11_bosmlb_kcamlb_1&mode=wrap)If the Sox keep up this waking of their bats on home and away games and their pitchers stay healthy then we could be watching some Post season baseball.
On to the matter of Tim Wakefield(oldest pitcher on sox team) and if hes still has anything in him pitching wise. To me he does has something left to make him pitch but with age and injuries many questions are being raised about him and his ability to pitch or should he move on ?( http://www.nesn.com/2010/04/tim-wakefields-strong-start-proves-red-sox-have-mr-reliable-back-in-the-mix.html)

See links for followed blogs and other commentary from New England Sports Network.

Hopefully Wakefield can bring in some W's for the team still and keep injuries low.

Until next game day or when I get a chance to watch.

Go SOX!
